TINNEY Speaking OF Homemaking By Elizabeth Greenwood Home Service Representative Carolina Power and Lijrht Company ( hiquita (orn Flakes ( innamon Cookies , 4 cups Corn Flakes 2 tsps. cinnamon 1/3 cup sugar 2 1/4 Pups sifted flour 2 tsps. baking powder 1/4 tsp. baking soda 3/4 tsp. salt 2/3 cup shortening 1 cup sugar 2 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 cup mashed ripe bananas (2 to •1). Use fully ripe bananas— yellow peel flecked with brown). 1. Crush corn flakes into fine crumbs. Add cinnamon and sugar. 2. Sift together flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Beat shortening until creamy; add sugar gradually, beating until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beat well. Stir in vanilla. Stir in sifted dry ingredients alternately with bananas, beating until smooth after each addition. Roll teaspoonfuls of dough in com flakes crumbs and place on greased baking sheet. Bake in moderately hot oven (400 degrees Fahrenheit) about 10 minutes. Yield: 5 dozen cookies, 2 inches in diameter. The power plant, located just across the rail siding which runs full length of the building, is built of masonry walls and re inforced concrete and structural steel frame. This plant houses the steam boilers which produce the steam for operation and pro cessing. These boilers can be op erated by either pulverized coal or oil. Adjoining the boiler room or as a wing to the boiler room is the turbine room, where a large turbine produces the power for the plant. Modern means have been used for production facilities as well as for conveniences and service to all employees of the plant. VISITING FRIENDS Miss Louise Whitehead is visit ing friends at Fort Lauderdale, Charleston, and Washington, D. C.' Later in the summer she will be with her mother, Mrs. William A. Whitehead. TRICKETT HOME Mrs. Carl Trickett returned Fri day from Pittsburgh, Pa., where she had spent a week with Mrs. Ruth Weir, who came home with her to spend a week in Black Mountain. GUESTS OF SABISTONS Miss Sara Tracy and Dade Fisher of Macon, Ga., spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Bor den Sabiston of Montreat road. On Sunday they made a trip to Craggy. 7
